Step 1 Warmingup and revision
Show some pictures about rules. Let students guess what rules they are, and then lead in to the new lesson. (详见PPT)
Step 2 Presentation
1．Look at the pictures in 1a.
T: What day is it today?
Ss: It's Tuesday.
T: The boy is going out with friends on school nights. (板书，教读)

Can you go out on school nights?
Ss: No, we can't.
T: Yes, in China, students can't go out on school nights without parents' permission. So please don't go out on school nights.
3．Read the rules in the chart in 1b. Then match the pictures[a—h] with the rules.

1．Tell students they'll listen to the recording about Dave's house rules. Listen and put an “×” for things Dave can't do and a “√” for things he has to do.

1．Students read the phrases aloud together.
2．Explain the meaning of the phrases if necessary.
