【精讲点拨】
1. 一般过去时：表示过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态。
常见的时间状语有：this morning, yesterday, the day before yesterday, last week/year/month, 时间段+ago, in 2000等.
本模块主要是含有be动词的过去时态的句子，其中was是am/is的过去式，were是are的过去式。
如: I am a teacher now. 现在我是一名老师。
I was a student last year. 去年我是一名学生。
They are in Beijing now. 现在他们在北京。
They were in Shanghai yesterday. 昨天他们在上海。
2. I was born in a small village in Shanxi Province. 我出生于陕/山西省一小村庄。
（1）be born in/on 表示出生于，常用过去时态，后常接时间状语或地点状语。(在某天用on,在某年/某月用in;地点前用in)
如：I was born in Liaocheng on June15, 2004. 我2004年六月十五日出生于聊城。
（2）in a small village in Shanxi Province
英语中地点有大有小，若同时出现时，排列顺序：先小后大，与汉语恰好相反。
如:我出生在山东省冠县。应译为：I was born in Guanxian in Shandong Province.
2. friendly,形容词友好的，既可以作表语也可以作定语。
常用短语：对某人友好常用be friendly to sb，
如：Our teacher is friendly to us. 我们的老师对我们很友好。friendly 在句中做表语。
My friend Mary is a friendly girl.我的朋友玛丽是一个友好的女孩。friendly 在句中做定语。
4.strict, 形容词严格的，严厉的，既可以作表语也可以作定语。
对某人严格用be strict with sb ，对某事严格用be strict in sth .
如：My father is strict with me. 我爸爸对我很严格。
My teacher is strict in his work. 我的老师对他的工作很严格。
5..What be sb like ? 是询问某人的性格，用friendly, nice, kind, good, difficult等词来回答，而What do/does sb like? 是询问某人的外貌特征，用tall, short, fat, thin,young,old等词来回答。
如：What is your mother like? 你妈妈性格怎么样？
She is very kind . 她很和蔼。
What does your mother look like? 你妈妈长得怎么样？
She is very tall and beautiful. 她又高又漂亮。

1.I wasn’t bored in Quincy .在昆西我感到不无聊。
bored，感到无聊，常放在系动词后作表语，做主语的常是人；
boring无聊的，常用来形容事或物，作主语的常是物，可以作表语也可以作定语。
如: I am very bored today .今天我感到很无聊。
The film is very boring. 这部电影很无聊。
This is a boring film.这是一部无聊的电影。
2.There was a big living room with a TV.
with 是介词带有，with a TV是介词短语作后置定语来修饰前面的living room.
3.There were lots of things to do in Quincy.在昆西我有很多事情可做。
（1）there be sth.to do . 有某事可/要做。
如：There was lots of homework to do yesterday. 昨天有许多家庭作业要做。
（2）There was/were +主语+地点状语或时间状语。
表示过去某地存有某人某物，用was或were要取决于后面的主语的单复数。（就近原则）
如：There was a bookshop near my house last year. 去年我家附近有一家书店。
There were many children in the park last weekend. 上周末公园里有许多孩子。
There was a banana and two apples on the table. 在桌子上有一只香蕉和两个苹果。
There were two apples and a banana on the table.在桌子上有两个苹果和一只香蕉。
否定句式：there be +not . 如：There wasn’t a bookshop last year.
一般疑问句：Be there + 主语+其他？
如：Was there a bookshop last year.?
肯定回答： Yes, there was.
否定回答： No, there wasn’t.
4.It was great to play there.在那里玩很棒。
其中it 是形式主语，真正的主语是后面的动词不定式to play there.
常见句型：It is/was+adj. (for sb.) to do sth. (对某人来说)做某事... ...
如：It’s important for us to learn English well. 对我们来说学好英语是重要的。
5.I’m looking forward to seeing my friends again. 我盼望再次看到我的朋友们。
look forward to doing sth. 盼望做某事
如: I’m looking forward to visting the moon one day. 有一天我盼望拜访月球。
