thetransmitterandwhoarequalifiedforsuchwork.TheM300Transmittermustonlybeoperatedunderthespecifiedoperatingconditions(seesection19).RepairoftheM300Transmittermustbeperformedbyauthorized,trainedpersonnelonly.Withtheexceptionofroutinemaintenance,cleaningproceduresorfusereplacement,asdescribedinthismanual,theM300Transmittermustnotbetamperedwithoralteredin anymanner.Mettler-Toledoacceptsnoresponsibilityfordamagecausedbyunauthorizedmodifica-tions tothetransmitter.Followallwarnings,cautions,andinstructionsindicatedonandsuppliedwiththisprod-uct.Installequipmentasspecifiedinthisinstructionmanual.Followappropriatelocalandnationalcodes.Protectivecoversmustbeinplaceatalltimesduringnormaloperation.Ifthisequipmentisusedinamannernotspecifiedbythemanufacturer,theprotectionprovidedbyitagainsthazardsmaybeimpaired.WARNINGS:Installationofcableconnectionsandservicingofthisproductrequireaccesstoshockhazardvoltagelevels.Mainpowerandrelaycontactswiredtoseparatepowersourcemustbedisconnectedbe-foreservicing.SwitchorcircuitbreakershallbeincloseproximitytotheequipmentandwithineasyreachoftheOPERATOR;itshallbemarkedasthedisconnectingdevicefortheequip-ment.Mainpowermustemployaswitchorcircuitbreakerasthedisconnectingdevicefortheequipment.a DetailsThe4000TOCSensorisaTotalOrganicCarbonsensordesignedforusewiththeM300TOCtransmitter.TheM300TOCwillautomaticallyidentifythe4000TOCSensorwhenitisconnect-ed,andallfactorycalibrationdataisautomaticallyreadandusedforoperationandindication.The4000TOCSensorandM300TOCtransmitterareconfiguredwithfactorydefaultsettingstominimizemeasurementsetuptime.Thesedefaultsettingsallowforsensoroperationwithmini-malkeystrokes.The4000TOCSensorhasmorefeaturesthanothersensorsandmayrequireadditionalconfigurationdependantupontheoperationalsetup.Oncetheseparametersareset,theTOCsensorwillfunctionautomatically,andwillrequireuserinterfaceonlyforperiodicser-viceandmaintenance.Measurementsavailablefromthe4000TOCSensorincludeTOC,Con-ductivity/Resistivity(compensatedanduncompensated)andTemperature.The4000TOCSensorisdesignedwithfourlocalLEDindicatorsandaUVLampcontrolkeyonthefrontpanel,asshownintheillustrationbelow.TheLEDsaredesignedtoprovidelocalindi-cationofsensorstatus.TheoperationoftheLEDsissynchronizedwiththeM300TOCdisplaystatusmessagesthatappearinthe6-digitmeasurementnamelocation.FunctionColorOperationFaultRedFlashesduringFaultcondition,sensoroperationstoppedErrorAmberIlluminatesduringErrorcondition,sensorremainsoperationalSensorStatusGreenIlluminateswheneverACPowerisonandtheM300TOCisconnectedtothesensorUVLampOnGreenIlluminateswhenevertheUVLampisonTheUVLampcontrolkeyisdesignedtoprovidealocalOn/OffcontrolfortheUVlamptoallowforquicklampchange-outandassisttheoperatorduringtroubleshooting,ifnecessary.NOTE:IftheUVLampKeyispressedtoturntheUVLampoff,theUVLampcannotbeturnedonfromtheM300TOC,itcanonlybeturnedonbypressingthesensorkeyagain.h4000TOC
