　　Why can't children take care of themselves these days? It is probably because their parents help them do everything. This causes teenagers to depend on their parents too much. They do fine in school, because there are too many students in class and teachers can't look after them one by one. But they lack(缺) independence(独立) at home. My friends recently told me a sad story about a college student who got into a good university due to his high grades. But one month after starting school, he dropped out(退学)and went home. His parents asked him why he came back. He answered, “I realized that I lack independence. I can't live alone without you. I hate this feeling. My classmates and friends laugh at me. They think I'm like a little kid who needs his mom to help him do everything.” His parents realized that he wasn't making a joke. They regretted how they had raised him. Teenagers need to be independent. Obviously parents love their children, but spoiling(娇惯) them is bad for them. Some grandparents spoil their grandchildren because they think kids should get everything. But they don't know that this is not a good thing. They don't know how important independence is. They help kids do everything.  
　　Maybe it's time for adults to think about how they raise their kids. The earlier kids learn to be independent, the better their future will be.

　　Many of us don't pay much attention to the importance of eye care. It is said that if you take care of your body, then you can surely be healthy. That is why our eyes should be given a lot of care. Natural eye care should be put in a number one place.
There are several causes leading to poor eyesight like not enough food, genes(基因) and aging(老化). Televisions, computers and reading are also the causes of having poor eyesight. If you work in front of the computer, it is best to take a break every once in a while.
Something dirty can cause redness and it will make you feel uncomfortable. It is bad for your eyes, too. If this happens, you'd better clean your eyes with cold water. You must also try your best to protect your eyes from harmful things. For example, sunglasses are not just for fashion but they can also serve as a great way to protect your eyesight from UV rays.
Eating healthy foods will do good to your eyesight. Remember that vitamins A, C and E are good for eyes. Try to eat food groups that have these vitamins. And you should do eye exercises to protect your eyesight, too. If a person exercises often and eats the right kinds of food, his eyes will stay in good condition for a long time.
All the above are natural ways of eye care that help us keep healthy eyes. In short, eye care is very important, no matter how old a person is.
