The impression you make at the beginning of an interview is very important. Employers often decide to hire someone in the first three minutes of an interview. They judge you by your appearance, attitude and manners.
A friendly smile when you walk into the room is important. A smile shows a confident and positive attitude.
When you introduce yourself, make eye contact with the interviewer. Some interviewers offer a handshake. Others don't.
Try to be as natural as possible. But pay attention to your body language. The way you sit, walk, gesture, use your voice and show feelings on your face is all part of your body language. It makes the interviewer know how you feel about yourself and the situation you are in. Are you feeling positive about yourself? Your abilities? Your interest in the job?
Speak clearly and loudly enough. Show interest and enthusiasm in your voice. When you speak, look at the interviewer. Also, don't say negative things about yourself, or the former employer.
Listen to questions carefully. If you don't understand a question, ask the interviewer to repeat or explain politely.
Almost everyone is nervous in a job interview. Interviewers know that. They don't expect you to be totally calm and relaxed. But they expect you to try to control your nervousness. They expect you to show confidence in your ability to do the job.
At the end of the interview, thank the interviewer for her or his time.
It's a good idea to send a short thank­you letter right after the interview, or deliver it by hand.
Phone the company if you have not heard anything after one week. Ask if they have made a decision about the job.

We all know the old saying, “Laughter is the best medicine.” But can we make ourselves laugh at will? According to a Czech doctor, Karel Nespor, the answer is “Yes！” In his book, The Healing Power of Laughter, he tells us good ways to produce laughter all day long so we can be happy and healthy. He believes that with a little training, anyone can laugh at everyday events and therefore enjoy better health and relationships.
Dr Nespor says that we should start the effective “laughter­training” first thing in the morning. As soon as we get up, we should be sure to smile at ourselves in the mirror. We may feel silly at first, but that will only make us smile more! The next step is that while we are bored or anxiously waiting for something, we should think of funny things. For example, as we wait in line for the bus, we can imagine Tom Hank's character in the movie The Terminal and how he loses his ID papers, and has to live in an airport and entertain himself and others in very amusing ways. The third step is to laugh at difficult things that make us feel sad or even afraid. Really!
When these situations and feelings come, we can laugh at our problems, and find humour in real life. No matter how unpleasant things are, try to imagine that these events are like an old friend whom you love to joke with. This will help us learn the powerful skills of letting go of negative thoughts and replacing them with positive thoughts.
And finally, as we eat our dinner at night, remember what Dr Nespor says, “Laughter need not be lonely. Smile more often at your friends and relatives. Point out funny things to each other, tell each other humorous stories, and laugh together a lot.”
Repeat these four steps each day for best results! There are two points to remember to keep your funny feelings flourishing:_avoid entertainment such as horror movies, and be careful not to laugh at others. This may hurt them and you as well.
Dr Nespor warns that making others unhappy may reverse(颠倒) the health benefits of laughter. But making yourself and others happy should produce long­lasting healthy effects.
