waveform generator(AWG)offset is the specified percentage of the AWG peak power level.Actual AWG signal offset is equal to the l/Q modulator 8 NI-RFSG Soft Front Paneloffset correction plus the value specified in this parameter.A negative offset shifts the locus of the symbol coordinates left of center in the l/Q plane.A positive offset shifts the locus of the coordinates right of center in the l/Q plane.Valid offset range is-100%to 100%.Q OffsetSpecifies the Q-signal DC offset,in percent(%).The AWG offset is the specified percentage of the AWG peak power level.Actual AWG signal offset is equal to the l/Q modulator offset correction plus the value specified in this parameter.A negative offset shifts the locus of the symbol coordinates lower in the l/Q plane.A positive offset shifts the locus of the coordinates higher in the l/Q plane.Valid offset range is-100%to 100%.Gain ImbalanceSpecifies the gain imbalance of the l/Q modulator(I versus Q),in dB.l/Q gain imbalance is the difference in scaling between the I and Q components.A positive value indicates that the I component has been impaired.A negative value indicates that the Q component has been impaired.Valid gain imbalance range is-6 dB to 6 dB.IQ SkewSpecifies the adjustment of the phase angle between the I and Q vectors,in degrees().If the skew is zero, the phase angle is 90O.A negative skew twists the constellation to the left.A positive skew twists the constellation to the right.Valid skew range is-30 to 30.Note The up,down, left, and right specifications for the effects of l/Q impairments on the data assume that the data is displayed on an l/Q graph where I is the x-axis and Q is the y-axis.4.(Optional)Preview the signal on the SFP.1.Click the Preview Data softkey on the Arb softkey menu to Soft Front Panels to generate TDMS files that are supported by the NI-RFSG SFP.Text FilesFormat data in text files as two columns of l/Q data separated by a delimiter,or format it as a single row of interleaved l/Q data with elements separated by a delimiter. The Import parameters dialog box for text files includes the following options:File Information Column DelimiterSpecifies the type of delimiter the file usestab, comma, orsemicolon.Decimal PointSpecifies the type of character the file uses for a decimal pointsystem-defined,period,or comma.Offset(bytes)Specifies the number of bytes(characters)to ignore at the beginning of the file to account for a header.Data Array TypeSpecifies whetherthe data is formatted as 2D,which corresponds to two columns of l/Q data,or ID Interleaved, which corresponds to a single row of interleaved l/Q data.IQ Rate(S/s)Specifies the l/Q rate of the data. The default value is 100 MS/s.Swap I&QEnables noninverse phase rotation of the l/Q signal by swapping the I and Q values in the data.10 NI-RFSG Soft Front PanelTDMS FilesWhen you import a TDMS file, the SFP populates the waveform name, headroom, and l/Q rate values from the corresponding properties in the TDMS file.Note The SFP only supports TDMS files that are generated by Nl RF Toolkit SFPs.Related TopicsSaving a ConfigurationRefer to this topic for more information about saving and recalling configurations using TDMS.Saving a ConfigurationThe NI-RFSG Soft Front Panel allows you to save all the current settings, and to later recall them to restore the Soft Front Panel to a predefined state. The NI-RFSG SFP uses the TDMS file type for this purpose.Although the configuration is stored in binary format, you can open and read TDMS files using the Nl LabVIEW TDMS viewer, shown in the following figure,or the TDM Excel Add-In for Microsoft Excel.National InstrumentsNI-RFSG Soft Front PanelWhen you view a configuration file in the Nl LabVIEW TDMS Viewer, parameter
