Purchase an all­inclusive package
An easy way to rack up(增加) a high cruise bill is by taking advantage of every extra that a cruise line has to offer without knowing which extras are included in the package you've purchased.If you're worried about spending too much on activities，beverages，food and accommodations，book an all­inclusive package，which could help you save money in the long run.
Seek unadvertised discounts
Though they don't always advertise them，many cruise lines offer special prices for certain groups.Royal Caribbean，for example，extends special pricing on all cruises to airline employees.
Call the cruise line to find out if it offers discounts for any groups，employers or organizations you are affiliated(加入) with，and you could save up to $100 or more a day on your booking.
Use an app to track prices
If you can be flexible with your travel dates，you might be able to get a great deal on a cruise by using an app like Cruise Critic.The app lets you monitor prices of upcoming cruises and informs you of any major changes on prices as the days go by.If the price on your cruise drops after you've booked，you can contact the cruise line to negotiate the difference.The cruise line might refund you in the form of an onboard credit that you can use for cruise activities and other amenities(便利设施) during your trip.
Look for local deals
Many cruise­goers extend their vacations by booking stays and planning activities in port cities before and after the cruise.If this is your plan，save money on dining and adventures by looking for local deals ahead of time.

Years ago，a woman named Genevieve Piturro began doing volunteer work that wouldn't just change her life，but would also have a life­changing influence on lots of children throughout the country.And it all began with some kids' pajamas(睡衣)．
Always being interested in reading，Genevieve focused her new volunteer work on sharing her love of books with children.She only had free time after work，so she decided to spend her evenings reading to kids in homeless shelters.Genevieve's story could have ended there，but what she noticed happening after those nighttime readings is what soon gave her a life­changing idea.

For her next visit，Genevieve returned armed with 12 pairs of pajamas.Some kids in the shelter quietly asked，“What's the use of them？”—but it soon became clear that Genevieve had found a special need that had to be filled.Her Pajama Program was born.
Over the next five years，Genevieve and her Pajama Program collected 85，000 pairs of pajamas for children in need.Then，during her “Oprah Show” interview，Genevieve received a big surprise of her own：Oprah and the show producers asked the audience to bring as many pajamas as they could to donate to Genevieve's organization.That final count totaled 32，046 pairs.
“Hours after the show，thousands of our children in shelters received boxes of pajamas and books，thanks to everyone who watched，” says Genevieve.All that help has continued over the years，and for homeless children，Pajama Program offers so much more than just a pair of clothes to sleep in.

“The large solar systems on the platform roof coupled with the solar systems on the train roof produce more solar energy per day than is required to operate an hourly return service，” says Holmes，development director of the non­profit Byron Bay Railroad company，which runs the train.With one full charge，the train can make 12 to 15 trips.
Volunteers fully restored the train to its old condition to attract more riders，which should take more cars off city streets of the beach town.The train fits 100 seated passengers，with room for more to stand，and also has a luggage room for bikes and surfboards.A ride costs a little more than $2.
The non­profit thinks it's a model that could be replicated(复制) elsewhere.“Our service has had no government support or funding at all，but for this to be replicated or improved upon，the key is for government to work with enterprises on the program，” Holmes says.“Our service provides an example of how the sun's energy can be used for sustainable transport solutions.”

When it comes to mental illness，many people often find it tough to get the help they need.This is especially true for young students making the transition(过渡) to college life.
“Sometimes，students don't realize how hard it is to adjust to college，” said Laura Smith，associate dean of students at the University of Texas at Dallas.“You're not the big fish in your classes anymore；you have all kinds of personal stress；you're away from home.Dealing with these things is not easy.”

Trinh，27，graduated from Texas Woman's University in 2015.During college，she hosted various workshops on how to handle mental health conditions.Trinh used her own story to connect with students who might be facing similar problems.High academic pressures，cultural differences as an Asian American and stressful social situations stood out as some of the most common causes of Trinh's anxiety.
It was only after years of personal problems that she could admit that reaching out isn't a sign of weakness.
“If you feel you can't connect with other people around you，you should address the issue without shame，” Trinh said.“You'll find that there are a lot of people out there who sincerely want to help you.”
