My Home Town
My home town is a small village not far from the Dongjiang River. A road runs through it. You can see houses behind green trees along both sides of the road. There are about 300 people in the village. All of them are very friendly. In busy seasons most of them do farm work in the fields. Our village is famous for its fruit. When summer comes, many businessmen drive here to buy them.
My home town is becoming more and more beautiful. I love my home town very much.

I like climbing mountains best. Climbing mountains is a healthy and relaxing activity. Why do I like this activity?
First of all, climbing mountains is a very good exercise. It can make people stronger. Secondly, climbing mountains is easy and cheap. Thirdly, climbing mountains is a good way to get away from daily work or study. One can work or study better after he/she comes back.
Climbing mountains is quite good for people. Would you like to have a try?

Module4 Planes, ships and trains
How do my family go to work?
There are three people in my family, my father, my mother and I. My father usually goes to work at 7 o’clock in the morning. He drives a car to work every day. It takes him about 20 minutes. My mother works in a factory, and the factory is far from my home. She always takes a bus to work. I study at a middle school. Because it is not far, I often go to school on foot, but sometimes by bike.

My Favourite Film
My favourite film is Titanic. It’s a love story. It happened in a big ship called “Titanic”. Two young persons, Jack and Rose, fell in love in the ship. However, they couldn’t stay together. Because the ship crashed into the iceberg and fell into the ocean. In order to protect Rose, Jack made Rose on the deck. In the end, Jack died in the big ocean and Rose was saved by other people. The film won the hearts of millions of people. That was too wonderful. Everyone was moved(感动的).

Let’s Help Animals
Animals are our good friends. We should treat them well. But now people kill too many of them for their meat. People also cut down many trees and take away their homes. Animals have no place to live in. So they are becoming fewer and fewer.
It is not right to kill animals. People should stop killing animals and cutting down trees. More trees should be planted. And some animals can be put in the zoo.

Module 7 A famous story
My Favourite Story
I love reading and I have read many books. My favourite story is The Three Little Pigs.
There are three little pigs in the story. They built their own houses. The first pig built a straw house. The second built a wood house. The third built a house with bricks. Then a wolf ate the first pig and the second pig. But he couldn’t eat the third one because the third pig’s house was very strong. At last the third pig killed the wolf.
This is my favourite story because it is interesting and it teaches us to be hard-working.

Module 8 Accidents
An Accident
One sunny afternoon, when I was riding home, I heard “Help! Help!”. I rode to the riverside and found a boy of about five in the river struggling. I jumped into the water, swam to the boy and dragged him to the river bank. The boy said he was trying to catch a fish near the river bank and carelessly fell into the water. I asked him where his home was and sent him home. “ Thank you very much!” the boy’s parents said when I left his home. Though I got home late that afternoon, I was very happy.

The Increasing Population
The increasing population is one of the largest problems in the world. Because of it, people have less and less living space in many countries. More people, more bikes and more cars make the traffic very crowded in most cities. Even parking cars is difficult. In many places of the world, people don’t have enough medicine or food. Some people don’t even have enough water. We must think out some ways to control the increasing population.

Living in a City
Living in a city has both advantages and disadvantages.
It’s much easier for people living in a city to find work than those living in the countryside. Also a city usually has convenient transport. In addition, there are a lot of interesting things to do and places to see in a city. You can go to parks, go to cinemas or visit museums when you want to relax.
However, it’s often expensive to live in a city. What’s more, the city is always crowded, noisy and dirty. It is difficult to find a good place where people can enjoy peace and fresh air as they do in the countryside.

Module 10 The weather
The Best Time to Visit China
Welcome to visit China. I think the best time to come is in February.
It’s usually cold and there may be some snow, so bring an overcoat. Best of all, there won’t be so many visitors. Make sure you bring a camera. You may like to take lots of photos. The Chinese Spring Festival is usually in February. You will have the chance to watch lion dance and dragon dance in a street. It’s very exciting. I’m sure you will have a good time.

Module 11 Way of life
Dear Jack,
I am very happy to hear that you will come to visit China. Now let me tell you some manners and customs.
When you walk in China, you must walk on the right. When you meet other people, you must say hello to them instead of bowing. When you eat something, you must use chopsticks. The host often asks you to eat more food. If you are full, you don't have to eat up the food on the plate. After you finish your meal, the host often makes tea for you. It is delicious. Before you leave the house, you must say goodbye to the host politely.

How to Keep Safe When an Earthquake Happens?
It’s important for us to keep safe when an earthquake happens. We should pay attention to the following. First, we must keep calm, and then move to a safe location quickly, such as under the hard tables. Second, we should protect our faces and heads with hands or other soft things. Third, when the shake stops, we should run out as soon as possible and try to be far away from high buildings. If you are outside, remember to keep away from tall buildings. Last but not least, don’t take the lift at this moment.
